Flourish Classes: Barre, Pilates & Yoga

Over the years, Flourish Wellness has diversified its class offerings to keep our members challenged, but also to ensure they're exercising holistically throughout the week. Here's a look at the different classes we offer at the studio to suit your ability or workout style. 

We often say in class that the longer you come to Barre with Flourish, the harder it becomes! Don’t be fooled, you’ll be getting fitter and stronger week to week, but you will also become savvier! Practice makes perfect. The more regularly you attend classes, the more mobile and stronger you will become. 

We recommend attending 3 classes a week for the full benefits and results.

Beginner Barre

An energetic, fun, intro to what barre is all about.

Our beginner class perfect for those starting out or taking things slow. Don't be fooled, you'll still leave knowing you had a great workout. Beginner Barre fuses ballet barre (French for 'bar') conditioning exercises with Pilates, yoga, and functional, body-weight training.

Who this class is best for:
This class is suitable for anybody. There are plenty of levelled options for beginners, pre & post natal, and plenty of opportunities to push yourself if you're ready.

Beginner Barre New Zealand classes

Core & Stretch

The perfect way to wind down.

This luxurious 60 minute core & stretch class releases tired and tight muscles, calms the mind and strengthens your core. Incorporating aspects of yoga you'll leave this class feeling taller and zen.

Who this class is best for:
There are no prerequisites and all levels are welcome. This class is hugely complimentary to your other barre classes & extracurriculars.

Tone

Feel strong, toned and graceful all at once.

This is an intermediate level class focusing on toning and form. Beginners and pre-natal are welcome! Our tone class is low impact and comprises interval training and isometric exercises to reshape and sculpt your body.

Who this class is best for:
This class is great for anyone wanting to build strength and tone (without getting bulky!) It's challenging but we think you can handle it.

Cardio Barre Cambridge

Cardio Barre

High-intensity interval training at the barre.

This is our advanced class option. You will sweat, smile, and feel fantastic by the end of it. Cardio Barre is sure to get your heart rate up and leave you glowing. (Please note: We don't recommend this class if you are a beginner.)

Who this class is best for:
This class is designed for those our clients who are ready to take the next step with their barre fitness!

Hatha Yoga

Can't sit still long enough to meditate? This is the next best thing.

Hatha yoga is all about controlled breathing and posture. In this class you will move your body slowly and deliberately into poses that challenge your strength and flexibility, while at the same time focusing on relaxation and mindfulness.

Who this class is best for:
Anyone who might be new to yoga or getting back into an exercise routine. If you're looking for a class that has a slower, more relaxed pace - this is it!

Vinyasa Flow Yoga

Yoga, but let's work up a sweat!

In this class you'll be moving from one pose directly into the next i.e. getting your heart rate up nicely! It's a faster pace, more challenging yoga class. You may even find muscles you’ve never felt before!

Who this class is best for:
If you've tried yoga before, have a pretty good level of fitness and want to break a sweat. These classes are different every time so they will be fun and challenging!

Who says yoga is just for women?

It's time for us to let you in on our best kept secret. If you have tight hip flexes and hamstrings, or bad posture from hunching over a desk all day, this class is for you. Beware, you may experience increased flexibility, mental clarity and an urge to keep coming back to class for more - don't say we didn't warn you!

Who this class is best for:
This class is designed for all males, whether you’re a tradie or have a desk job, are active or not so much.

Beginner Mat Pilates

The perfect mix of gentle movement and stretching.

This class focuses on small movements that build strength and stability in your core. It's a fabulous way to improve your balance, posture, confidence and mind-body connection. You will always have the option to challenge yourself or take the class at a slower pace.

Who this class is best for:
Beginner pilates is a gentle way to get started if you are new to pilates, recovering from an injury or getting back into a regular exercise routine.

Gentle Flow Yoga

An exercise class that feels like a warm hug for your body.

Find freedom and fluidity in body and mind as you connect breath and movement in this gentle flow class. As you warm up the body and gently move through your practice you will release stress and tension and become fully present within your body.

An accessible class that feels nurturing and loving to the body, you will come away from the mat feeling refreshed and revitalised.

Who this class is best for:
Those wanting to stretch and strengthen. Perfect for those days when you want to move your body in a gentle way.
