It is really frustrating when you are working hard to reach a weight loss or fitness goal and then you hit a plateau. All of a sudden, your scale won't budge and you don't seem to get any fitter.
Here's what to do to avoid that dreaded plateau:
- Incorporate strength training into your exercise routine - this helps you to build muscle and boost your metabolism.
- Try changing up your exercise routine - whether that is the frequency, intensity, or the type of class.
- Manage your stress - when you are stressed your body tends to hold onto weight.
- Nourish your body - make sure you are eating a combination of protein, carbs and healthy fats at each meal.
We keep this in mind as we design all of our barre classes. We are always trying out new moves and incorporating different equipment to ensure that every workout challenges you and helps you keep getting fitter and stronger!
If you feel like you've hit a plateau, maybe try out a class that is different to your usual one or add another class to your schedule.
